E17 - The Unabomber

In this episode, we are going to look at the life of Ted Kaczynski. And what prompted this episode was the sudden and recent death of the terrorist.

Ted Kaczynski, the convicted terrorist known as the Unabomber, was confirmed dead from an apparent suicide at 12:23 AM on June 10th, 2023.

Kaczynski was found unresponsive Saturday morning on June 10th, 2023 in his prison at the federal medical facility in Butner, North Carolina where he had been serving a life sentence. He had been serving a life sentence at the federal supermax prison in Florence, Colorado, but had been transferred to the North Carolina facility in December 2021 due to poor health.

The U.S. Department of Justice said in a news release that prison officials "immediately initiated life-saving measures" after finding Kacynski unresponsive, and he was then transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead around 8 a.m.

Ep 16 - What Were They Thinking Headlines

Welcome to this very special episode. Back when I started the podcast I did a pre-episode one -- Shenanigan Headlines, which aired on February 6th of this year - 2023. It was a lot of fun, and not Rochester NY based.

I figured it was about time to do a 2nd installment, where we look at some crazy crimes committed around the country -- only I like the title of What Were They Thinking Headlines much, much better.

I do hope that you like this episode and decide to comb through my growing library of true-crime podcasts.

E15 - A True Monster - Ed Laraby

In the spring of 1998, two 12-year-old boys rode together on a dirt bike, one balanced standing on the rear tire pegs.

Just outside of Holley, New York, the boys took the bike off-road. They came upon a shallow stream filled with fish. Although they didn’t have fishing poles with them, they didn’t plan on letting that stop them from making a catch.

Unfortunately, during the foray of fun, they stumbled upon something else. They found under some brush, and in the water, a human skull -- and the skeletal remains of a person.

E12 - A Bump in the Night - Roderick Scott

In 2009, in the middle of the night, Roderick Scott woke to the sound of someone outside.

Three people were in his driveway, moving across the street, and then were trying the doors of vehicles in the driveway.

Roderick went back into his house, told his girlfriend to call 911, and grabbed his handgun.

No one could have predicted what would happen next.

Shots were fired.

Someone was dead . . .

Did Justice prevail in the town of Greece after something went bump in the night?
